January Minutes:
A motion was made by George to accept the minutes as presented, motion seconded by Lena, motion carried.
Financial Report:
Jessica Cessna
Bank Balance: $61,760.40
Jessica made a motion to put $30,000 into two certificates of deposit. Motion was seconded by George, motion carried.
A motion was made by Matt to accept the financial report, motion was seconded by George, motion carried.
Director of Operations Report:
Rick Leitch
The painting of the interior office was completed.
Rick advised the board that Barbara Moore from the City of College Station has a neighborhood support program. This program covers block parties. The SPHOA would qualify for the neighborhood support program. She will be sending Rick an email with the details for us to be awarded a grant.
The four new security cameras were in and would be installed by Rick.
The SPHOA attorney, Jeff advised Rick on the French’s foreclosure at 1601 Kernston. Jeff feels like we might end up with the property after foreclosure.
Rick wanted the board to consider purchasing a LED sign for outside the clubhouse. It was decided that the topic would be tabled until the March 2009 meeting. Rick would check with the city on restrictions.
A motion was made by Jessica to accept the Director of Operations report, motion was seconded by George, motion carried.
Committee Report:
Enforcement: Everything is in good shape so far in 2009.
Webpage: No problems to report with GKG, they are updating the webpage within three days of receiving material.
Social: Garage sale is set for April 4, 2009.
Old Business:
The office computer is still in the works.
New Business:
The garden club wants to host a plant sale on March 14th from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m. The plants would be delivered to the clubhouse the evening of March 13th. Rick would include a pricing sheet for preorders in the February mailout. It was also suggested that the board be on hand for a meet and greet with the homeowners. All profits from the sale would go to the homeowners association.
The nomination of the current members of the board, George Whitfield, Ben Kirby, Jessica Cessna, Matthew Byerly, Lena Williams and Rick Leitch were all accepted. Jessica Cessna nominated Gabrielle Leitch for a spot on the board and was seconded by Lena Williams. Gabrielle Leitch accepted the nomination.
Seeing that there were seven people nominated and seven spots for the board, it was determined that no elections needed to take place.
Homeowner Concerns:
There was no homeowner concerns presented.
With no further business, motion was made by Jessica that the meeting be adjourned, motion was seconded by George, motion carried.
